Quantifying & Measuring L&D Associated With Displacement
On March 21, the Loss and Damage Collaboration, the Advisory Group on Climate Change and Human Mobility and PDD jointly convened a thematic panel decision and Q&A session looking at “How to quantify and measure economic and non-economic losses and damages associated with displacement?“. The discussion also coincided with the 10th call of the Loss and Damage and the Challenges of Human Mobility and Displacement Working Group, which brings together experts working on Loss and Damage and Human Mobility to share experiences and work towards common advocacy objectives. It was the first in a series of thematic discussions the groups will be organising in 2024 to discuss key open policy issues on human mobility and Loss & Damage.
The call was attended by some 50 participants, including members of both groups, and articulated around a panel discussion featuring the following speakers:
-
Kristina Uzelac, International Organization for Migration (IOM);
-
Douwe van Schie, United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS);
-
Christelle Cazabat, Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IMDC); and
-
Jasper Linke IMPACT Initiatives.
A recording of the event is available on demand, please contact us if you are interested to accessing it or to otherwise follow the calls of the working group.
