IOM and PDD joint submission to the Review of the Warsaw International Mechanism

Together with the International Organisation for Migration, and in consultation with key partners in the human mobility community, PDD submitted a contribution to the review of the Warsaw International Mechanism on Loss and Damage (WIM). The review was established at the Bonn Climate Change Conference in June 2024 in the 60th meeting of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB 60), and will end at SB61/COP29 in Baku.

The key message of this submission is that the Task Force on Displacement and the other expert groups under the WIM ExCom should be further empowered in supporting the overall Loss and Damage architecture under the UNFCCC. This will be key to supporting the operationalization of the Santiago Network and the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage.
